So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some hints:

Clean wall and make sure it is dry. For recently colored walls let paint "thouroughly dry" for 10 to 15 days before to installing decals. Even if new paint seems dry, it may nonetheless need to settle and thoroughly dry. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not recommended on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very uneven and permeable surfaces, wallpaper or fragile surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to apply onto tile as long as the surface is clean and completely free of moisture during installation. Be certain the design element does not overlap grout area as water could possibly filter under and compromise the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, provided that they are placed tightly onto the surface so moisture cannot get under the sticker. Once applied, RoomMates should not move even if sprayed by shower.


Vinyl wall decals must not be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they shouldn't be placed on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may stick to the adhesive and destroy the merchandise. Also, do not position at the base or inside the tub. Water could filter under the design element too easily and would compromise the adhesive. When putting on, make sure you get started from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the rest of the element away from the wall/surface. Gradually go down over the design with your hand and smooth the element onto area (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once placed you should be able to move any leftover bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the section. If the difficulty persists (this would solely occur with the giant decals), you can punch a tiny (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to press the air out.

In all, it is always best to check wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface is uneven, effectiveness could be seriously diminished. Make certain surface is clean of dust and dirt or you may compromise the adhesive and wreck the merchandise.
